As part of her doctoral research, the professional joined the group of researchers\u00a0<\/i>awarded in the Licensed Intellectual Property category for the development of a\u00a0<\/i>natural antioxidants and anti Salmonella for meats.<\/i><\/p>\n

The 15th edition of the Inventors Award, an event\u00a0<\/span>held on June 10th at the headquarters of the Unicamp Innovation Agency\u00a0<\/span>(Campinas\/SP), had 80 participants this year and the Technical Manager\u00a0<\/span>from Aleris, Adriana Figueiredo, a Unicamp doctoral student, was one of the\u00a0<\/span>honored.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was part of the group of researchers who conducted the research entitled\u00a0<\/span>'Antioxidant microparticles and their uses' with the aim of presenting\u00a0<\/span>alternatives to synthetic preservatives with Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT)\u00a0<\/span>and Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) used in meat products\u201d, he begins.<\/span><\/p>\n

She highlights that the study conducted by the Multidisciplinary Center for\u00a0Chemical, Biological and Agricultural Research at Unicamp (CPQBA) presented\u00a0<\/span>the benefits of using essential oils extracted from medicinal plants and\u00a0<\/span>aromatics as natural antioxidants and their inhibitory action on\u00a0<\/span>proliferation of Salmonella in chicken meat and shelf life of products.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cDuring the analysis of the use of the blend, positive activity was observed in\u00a0<\/span>relation to the combination of essential oils extracted from Thymus vulgaris and\u00a0<\/span>Ocimum gratissimum as antioxidants, in addition to its effective control\u00a0<\/span>against Salmonella\u201d, details Adriana.<\/span><\/p>\n

The research was awarded in the \u201cLicensed Intellectual Property\u201d category, and\u00a0its commercial development for products originating from the invention will be\u00a0<\/span>responsibility of Terpenia, a company specialized in research,\u00a0<\/span>development, production and commercialization of bioinputs, based on\u00a0<\/span>use of plant extracts.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt took time, but the results are there. I'm very happy and I make a parallel\u00a0of this research to Aleris, because we are driven by research in order to\u00a0<\/span>propose solutions for our market\u201d, adds Adriana.<\/span><\/p>\n
